Job Summary
The Data Center Upgrade Technician is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and customization of undelivered servers in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities. Additionally, you will be providing the support, maintenance, deployment, upgrade, and optimization of infrastructure all while always ensuring quality and sustainability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.

The Data Center Upgrade Technician is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and customization of undelivered servers in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities. Additionally, you will be providing the support, maintenance, deployment, upgrade, and optimization of infrastructure all while always ensuring quality and sustainability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the proper installation, upgrade and customization of undelivered servers.
- Proceed with the quality control of new racks upon receipt in the data center.
- Prepare the racks for hosting new servers.
- Wire the network to the servers on the rack according to the wiring plan.
- Rack and un-rack the undelivered servers while ensuring quality of execution.
- Start up new, undelivered servers and control the quality of finished products.
- Upgrade servers (swapping obsolete components) in line with the evolution of the product ranges.
- Customize servers (adding options) according to customers’ orders.
- Use the dedicated interfaces to record the movements of components.
- Ensure the handover of information between the teams in the data center.
- Maintain undelivered servers.
- Ensure the curative maintenance of undelivered servers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot servers’ issues (tests, analysis).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service, fulfilling the requirements as defined in the quality management system and in line with customers’ service levels.
- Technical degree in information technology preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Good knowledge of hardware (components) of computers and dedicated servers
- Linux and Windows operating system proficiency preferred
- Knowledge of Data Center environment (network, electrical, airflow, air filtration, cooling)
- Ability to perform tasks as assigned with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to details.
- Easily approachable and reacts calmly under stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
