Data Center Industrial Technician

Job Description

As a DC Industrial Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring proper function of the data center’s infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the functional of data center infrastructure
  • Oversee all planned maintenance activities for data center infrastructure equipment
  • Maintain requlaturoy components and alerting systems
  • Troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair defective components
    • Pumps
    • Fans
    • Air coolers
  • Install, deploy and assemble the follow but limited to:
    • Network interconnects and cabling
    • Cooling systems (air and water)
    • Custom racks and containers
  • Maintain and enforce local policies
  • Track and communicate status of infrastructure projects, installations and construction activities with internal and external resources
  • Propose improvements on infrastructure and equipment
  • Maintain compliance with local health & safety standards and national electrical and building codes.
  • Anticipate needs for datacenter by short-term and long-term capacity planning; elaborate strategy to set up infrastructure (rooms, cooling, network…) to optimize site with the product portfolio and site specific configuration
  • Work closely with the site manager of the data center
  • Responsible for timely execution of data center projects
  • Participate in P & L project development and ensure project profitability while maintaining optimal technical quality
  • Implement and document work methods, processes and procedures; collaborate actively with central functions on methods and continuous improvements
  • Execute all aspects of data center operations, including maintenance and repair of all critical equipment and systems
  • Place orders to procurement
  • Receipt of equipment

Required Skills and Background

  • 1-2 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor Degree or Mechanical trade certifications
  • Strong data center technical understanding including but limited to the following:
    • Data center electrical systems
    • Hardware architectures knowledge and troubleshooting experience
    • Data center cooling systems and airflow management techniques
  • Able to lift 50lbs without assistance
  • Able to work on ladders at least 7ft
  • Metal fabrication experience is a plus
  • Good team, organizational and planning skills
  • Able to effectively communicate to executive leadership
  • Highly driven, self-managed, able to demonstrate initiative and proactively seek solutions to problems
  • Problem analysis and critical thinking experience
